
Call for volunteers to Appointed Officers
We need your help!
The Braves Executive Directors are now asking for people to submit their name for positions within the Braves organization. We have 12 'Appointed Officers' positions that need to be filled to ensure the success of our club.
These positions are voting positions at meetings and come with a three year commitment.

Secretary:
• Set dates and locations for meetings.
• Notify members of upcoming meetings, provide minutes of last meeting and an agenda for upcoming meeting.
• Record attendance and minutes of meetings.
• For the Annual Meeting
• Send notice of meeting 4 weeks prior
• Accept nominations for elected positions up to 3 weeks prior
• Send constitutional amendments and slate of nominees for election to the Executive Directors
• Schedule coaching clinics as required.
• Schedule picture day.
Treasurer:
• Be accountable to the Board of Directors that an adequate financial management system is in place to meet the needs of the club.
• Provide technical expertise to the club relative to general financial management, computerized accounting and bookkeeping.
• Inform and advise the president as to the effectiveness of the club’s financial management system.
• Pay all approved invoices and expense requests.
• Keep books and records of the club under the supervision of the president/vice president. Such records will be subject to audit as required.
• In the event the treasurer is unable to act; the president or an appointed officer shall perform the duties of the treasurer.
• Provide financial update at each executive meeting.
Equipment Director:
• Ensure equipment is returned and inventory is taken each fall.
• Work with the treasurer as to equipment costs.
• Order equipment as required.
• Ensure the teams receive all required equipment prior to the season startup.
• Exchange damaged equipment during the season.
Diamond Director:
• File diamond applications with the city.
• Forward diamond information to leagues if required.
• Work with teams to coordinate schedules.
• Coordinate diamond scheduling with the city.
• Review billing statements before forwarding to the treasurer.
Website Director:
• Liaison with the website service provider.
• Input information (schedules, meetings, events, forms).
• Train head coaches and managers on website features.
• Create clear pathways for users to access documents and forms.
• Advise board of directors of needed software or upgrades.
Braves' Moms President:
• To oversee all fundraising efforts and activities of the baseball moms group.
• To assist the organization with tasks that may be appropriate to the group.
• To work with the treasurer to document funds raised.
Tournament Director:
• Ensure proper permits are obtained for OBA sanctioned tournaments we host.
• Ensure all rules are followed for OBA sanctioned tournaments we host.
• Work with treasurer regarding entry fees, diamond costs and umpire costs.
• Work with diamond director regarding diamond availability.
• Set schedule and have it approved by OBA chair.
• Send schedule to teams, city hall and umpires.
• Oversee the tournament weekend.
• Ensure tournament reports are submitted on time.
Fundraising Director:
• To oversee all fundraising efforts.
• To ensure fundraising proposals are approved by the Board of Directors.
• To work with the treasurer to document funds raised.
• To ensure proper permits are obtained.
• To ensure proper reports are submitted.
Volunteer Director:
• Ensure parent volunteers in place for tournament including concessions.
• Ensure parent volunteers in place for any other events that may arise.
• To work with the treasurer to document parent hours worked.
Minor Division Director (8U through 13U):
• Oversee the operation of the 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U and 13U teams.
• Work with coaches in developing skills appropriate with their age group.
• Ensure all coaches obtain required certification.
• Ensure all required information is supplied to the treasurer for out of town tournament applications.
• Bring any concerns of the teams to the executive.
Major Division Director (14U, 15U & 18U):
• Oversee the operation of the 14U, 15U and 18U teams teams.
• Work with coaches in developing skills appropriate with their age group.
• Ensure all coaches obtain required certification.
• Ensure all required information is supplied to the treasurer for out of town tournament applications.
• Bring any concerns of the teams to the executive.
Registrar:
• Collect rosters from each team.
• Ensure all information is full and correct including required birth certificates and releases.
• Enter rosters in the Baseball Ontario database for WCBA and OBA approval.
• Distribute official rosters back to each team.
